KRIS KLEIN

Kris was born in Santa Monica, raised in San Diego, and lives with her family in the South Bay. As the youngest of six kids, she and her twin sister tagged along with their mother to art and sewing classes, always passionate about creating things. Growing up very tomboyish, she competed as an equestrian, gymnast, and as a highly ranked tennis player.

After studying Art History and Fashion Merchandising at Brooks College, she began her career in high fashion retail and styling. She continued her studies at UCLA in the Broadcast Journalism program and interned at Channel 9. Kris missed her fashion roots and co-founded a ladies sportswear line in 1992 which sold at Fred Segal and several country club boutiques.

Many years of success later, after starting a family, Kris became a freelance studio stylist at Mattel and became a volunteer as a Young At Art docent. Young At Art ignited her passion for painting and she started exploring her own original artwork on canvas thereafter - creating Kris Klein Collections.

Kris Klein Collections has been featured at Williams Sonoma Home in Beverly Hills as well as in decor stores, salons, and private homes throughout Los Angeles and Orange County. She donates her art to schools and local charity events and has been commissioned to create custom paintings in several homes in the South Bay.

Kris lives by Henri Matisse's quote "Creativity takes courage," and has expanded her journey into contemporary realism and abstract painting. She passionately studies the master’s, takes local art classes, and is inspired by her beach surroundings and vacation destinations.  She paints abstract seashells, flowers, and her loving pets; using oils and acrylics.
